Web Developer Ref. nr: SWD/02/GPS/ASP

Global Publishing Services is an HSBC-owned agency that provides online, print and cross-media communication solutions including web content management, presentation services and media neutral design work. The Developer will produce and create high quality web-based applications, web pages, as well as related XHTML, CSS and JavaScript code, publish content online that fit project requirements and adhere to content and design guidelines as well as established industry standards and best practice. Main Duties: • Produce work that is in accordance with department guidelines, compliance regulations, policies and procedures regarding content and design, and industry best practice by understanding and applying them correctly, reviewing their work and collaborating with colleagues and seeking advice from team leaders as necessary • Ensure a high quality of work by consistently taking responsibility for one`s own work, reviewing it against quality standards, and consistently seeking to achieve zero quality errors • Enable to monitor and improve production metrics, bill clients as necessary, and provide training opportunities through the timely submission of productivity reports • Ensure a steady improvement in one`s skills and capabilities by supporting, planning and attending collaborative work and in-house cross-training opportunities, and assisting direct Line Manager in developing one`s annual and quarterly training plan • Maintain proficiency in current versions of software used within HSBC required to perform duties and seek written certification of proficiency from line manager on least an annual basis • Ensure compliance with all Group, GSC, company and department policies and procedures

Requirements: • 1-3 years’ work experience • Flair for design, attention to detail and good command of UK English • Good people skills and enthusiasm for teamwork • Highly proficient in HTML/XHTML and CSS and proficient in JavaScript. A conceptual familiarity with XML is expected. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is assumed • Experience in mobile technologies development would be useful • Familiarity with Flash/ActionScript, Macromedia Studio, Adobe CS and video production is desirable but not essential • Good interpersonal communication skills • Strong command of both written and spoken English
